A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 3:00 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Henry Williford officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-3 pm on the day of the service.

George “Richard” Kirby, II, a resident of Midland City, Alabama Passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at his residence. He was 61.

Richard was born on September 28, 1960 in Pensacola, Florida to George Richard and Gladys Virginia Harrell Kirby. He was a graduate of Dothan High School. Richard worked at Danley’s Furniture and was the manager at Domino’s Pizza where he met his wife, Lucy. Richard was an infamous bartender at Houligans Irish Pub where he had the nickname of Crash. He loved baseball and coached his son’s little league team. Richard was a family man and loved spending time with his entire family.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, George Kirby; his daughter, April Kirby; and his father-in-law, James O. Webb.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Kirby; his son, George Richard “Trey” Kirby, III; his daughters, Sadie (Jimmy) Bateman and Tracie (Cody) Skinner; his grandchildren, Wyatt, Eli, Avery, Grayson, Riley and one on the way; his mother, Virginia Kirby; his sister, Jenny Traylor; his niece, Meagan Traylor; his nephew, Kirby Traylor; and his great-nieces and nephews, Ross, Madi, Kiera and Lillith.
