George Stanley Bogart, a resident of Dothan, passed away at his residence on Thursday, December 22, 2016. He was 60.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, December 26, 2016 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keener Batchelor and Rev. Steve Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Hodgesville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12-2 pm at other times the family will be at 13354 US Highway 431 S., Headland, AL.

George was born on December 3, 1956 in Ft. Rucker, AL and lived there the early years of his life. George attended Dothan High School and received his Bachelor’s degree in 1997 from Christian Life School of Theology. After graduating he was pastor at several churches in the Wiregrass area. He was the owner of George's Auto Glass and Pastor of New Direction Church.
Mr. Bogart was preceded in death by his parents, James and Janie Bogert, Sr. and his brother, William Wesley Bogert.
Survivors include his wife, Micki Bogart; his children, Andrew Bogart, Jason (Jennifer) Newman, Jenifer (Patrick) Lux, and Jared Newman; his 3 grandchildren, Kennadie and Mollie Newman and Hudson Lux; his sister, Donna (Bruce) Gilbert; his brother, James P. (Cindy) Bogert; his godson, Charlie (Jenni) Harris and children; the mother of his son, Annette Bogart; and several nieces and nephews.
