George Wayne Halford, 75, a life-long resident of Dothan passed away, on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Crowne Health Care of Eufaula, following an extended illness.

George was born August 3, 1949, in Dothan to the late G.W. & Mary (Essy) Vaughn Halford. He worked as a service manager in the automotive industry for over 40 years. George loved golf, going to the lake, which led him to open his own bait & tackle shop, the “Crappie Shack.” He enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughter, and friends, and was known for always telling a good joke. During his time at Crowne Health Care, George accepted Christ and was baptized.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Bigbie, and Patsy Ott; and a son-in-law, Jeffery Creamer.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Halford of Dothan; his daugther, Kaye Creamer of Dothan; and several nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes, no services will be held at this time.
