George "Willard" Moore, 77, a resident of Donalsonville, Georgia passed away Monday May 22, 2017 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held 11am Thursday at Ewell Baptist Church with Pastor David Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10-11 am.

Mr. Moore was born December 15, 1939 in Millport, Alabama and he resided the early years of his life there. He moved to Ashford in the mid 1970's and was employed with Better Brands and later with Custom Lumber until his retirement in 2001. Mr. Moore resided at Lake Seminole for the past 15 years. He loved to make things out of wood, growing gourds for martin houses and growing fresh vegetables for his family and friends to enjoy.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents George and Lucille Moore, his wife, Rochelle Moore, his son, Darrell Moore, his brothers, Kenneth, Allen, Robert, and Loyd Moore.

Survivors include, Donna (Demp) Russell, Debbie (Michael) Wilkinson, Tracy Moore, Wanda Knight, Samantha Sketoe (Jay Nelson), April (Rocky) Windham, Julia Moore (Anthony May); his 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and his 2 brothers, J. B. (Ruthie) Moore and Ricky Moore; and 2 sisters, Erma (Danny) Harless and Martha (Jerry) Huffman.
