Georgy Ann Wilson, a resident of Dothan, passed away Monday, July 13, 2012 at a local hospital. She was 44.


Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1152 W. Main St., Dothan, AL, 36303.


Mrs. Wilson was born June 22, 1968 in Lyster Army Hospital. She resided in Pittsburgh, PA before moving to Dothan in 1983. Mrs. Wilson attended Dothan High School and was employed with Regis Inventory Company until her medical retirement in 2010. She loved to crochet, sketch and draw, and enjoyed gardening in her yard. She was very loving and caring and would go out of her way to help someone in need. What stood out the most in her life was how much she loved her family. She was the best cheerleader Alabama Football ever had.


Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Dean Wilson, Sr., Dothan; her son, Mitchell Dean Wilson, Jr., Dothan; her daughters, Alycia Deborah Ann Hammond, Norfold, VA, and Meagan Denise Wilson, Dothan; her sister, Kim Blalock, Dothan; a brother, George William Beattie, Maryland; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
