Mr. Gerald Johnson of Samson, Alabama passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013.  He was 60.


Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Donnie Earls and Rev. Jimmy Eddins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, June 13, from 6 until 8 p.m.


Gerald was born November 24, 1952 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late John L. and Earline Jones Johnson.  He was a very kind hearted person.  He enjoyed fishing and being with people, especially the love of his life, Kay.  Gerald attended Shady Grove Assembly of God Church where he loved to worship the Lord.


In addition to his parents, one sister, Martha Jean Jones preceded him in death.


Survivors include fiancé, Kay Catrett, Samson; two sisters: Merle Nowlin (Jerry), Spanish Fort, AL and Patricia Spicer Martin (David), Coffee Springs; three brothers: Foy Ray Johnson (Pauline), Geneva, Rex Johnson, Samson and William “Pete” Jones (Emma Jean), Coffee Springs; several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
