On the morning of December 21, 2022, Gerundio “Gerry” Reburiano Reblora of Ponce de Leon, FL, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his wife and family in Bonifay, Florida. Gerry was born in Oas, Albay, Philippines on August 25, 1940. At age 27, he joined the US Navy as a Filipino native and attained his US Citizenship in the Fall of 1971. He proudly served the United States of America for 10 consecutive years ending his career as an Electrician’s Mate First Class.
While stationed at his final duty station in Norfolk, VA, he met his wife, Diann. They married on August 9, 1971. Before the arrival of his 4th child (Randy), he transitioned into a civil service career with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as an electrician. In 1989, Gerry transferred to Kings Bay, GA, where he later retired from the civil service at the age of 55. At that point, he continued working as an electrical sub-contractor nationwide until his final retirement in 2011.
Gerry was very grateful for the US Navy. His patriotism and love for the United States of America was evident by all who knew him. His laugh was infectious. He was a character and beloved by many. He loved to cook, travel and listen to Tina Turner. The song “I did it my way” by Frank Sinatra would best describe Gerry.
He is predeceased by his parents, Justino and Concepcion Reblora, his siblings, David Reburiano Reblora, Belen Reblora Mape, Joventino Reburiano Reblora (Uncle Ben), his very special uncle and auntie, Timoteo and Regina Reburiano, and his great grandson, Keyontae Holzendorf.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Diann, of Ponce de Leon, FL, his children Christine Reblora of Jacksonville, FL, Patricia Goddin (Freddy) of Ponce de Leon, FL, Caroline Smith (Chris) of Geneva, AL, Randy Reblora (Brenda) of Richmond, VA, and Sheryl Holzendorf (Deon) of Fort Walton Beach, FL; his grandchildren Mackenzie Torres (David), Logan Brickhouse, Cody Goddin (Alexis), Haley Thompson (Jordon), Jordan Smith (Paris), Meagan Smith, Katherine Escobar, Kayla, Keshawn, and Kendra Holzendorf; his great grandchildren Lincoln Torres, Liam Goddin, and Isla Thompson; his sister Anicia Reblora Bautista of Oas, Albay, Philippines, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews of the Reblora and Reburiano families, both, stateside and in the Philippines.
