Gina Floyd Harris

Gina Floyd Harris, a resident of Midland City, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at a local hospital. She was 63.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 2:00 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alaqua Animal Refuge, 155 Dugas Way, Freeport, FL 32439.

Gina was born on December 3, 1958 in Defuniak Springs, FL to Wendell and Jeanette Floyd. She was a graduate of Murphy High School in Moblie, AL. She married the love of her life, William A. Harris, Jr. on June 19, 1998. Gina owned and operated Gina’s Cleaning Service from 1997 until her ovarian cancer diagnosis in November of 2014. She loved attending music concerts, comedy shows, and going shopping. She adored dogs, especially pitbulls. Gina enjoyed getting dolled up and having her hair fixed by Eduardo in Sandestin.

Gina was preceded in death by her pets, Mr. Kitty, Jake, Jolene, and Skinny Pete.

She is survived by her husband, William A. Harris, Jr.; her children, Jeffery D. Floyd and wife Hanna of Casablanca, Morroco; stepchildren, Marissa J. Harris and Michael A. Harris; grandchildren, McKenzie D. Floyd, Kendall G. Floyd, Ayana A. Floyd, Jackson M. Floyd, Abigail M. Floyd, Bralynn A. Hammond, Allyson D. Harris, Cameron K. Harris; great grandchildren, Aria J. Floyd; siblings, Jon Floyd and wife Jenee of Chipley FL. And Felecia Bassham and husband Stephen of Navarre, FL; nieces and nephews, Shelby L. Bassham, Samuel P. Bassham, Evan D. Bassham, Katyn L. Christmas, Daniel J. Floyd, and Olivia J. Floyd, Westley Wilson, Cassandra Wilson, Abigail Harris, and Brock Harris; her best friends, Becky Vaughn of Athens, AL and Justine Jeffries of Ashville, N.C.; and her special pet, Csonka.
