Giovie was born on April 24, 1932 to the late Ibrahim and Ana Rocafort in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was the proud sibling to Sonia Rocafort, Nilsa Perez, Ivette Noardone, and Orville Rocafort. Giovie met and married the love of her life, Robert H. Wright, on January 9, 1955 in Santurce, Puerto Rico and they remained together for 63 wonderful years. She was a physical therapist for almost 50 years having graduated from the University of Puerto Rico and the University of Pittsburg Physical Therapy School. Giovie worked with both children and adults, and founded the physical therapy department at SE General Hospital in Dothan in the early 1960’s. She would retire after many years at Flowers Hospital. Giovie enjoyed cooking for the United Methodist Church Supper Club and socializing with members of the church. On most football Saturday’s, you could hear Giovie shouting War Eagle! After her retirement, Giovie volunteered to tutor elementary students whose first language was Spanish.
Giovie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Wright and by her granddaughter, Adrienne Wright.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Lynne Wright and Brad Wilson, Fairhope, AL, Douglas Wright and Teresa Wright, Orange Park, FL; her grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Papke, Orange Park, FL, Miranda Wilson and Patrick Brown, Fayetteville, WV, and Kyle Wilson, Fairhope, AL; her great-grandchildren, Aidan Papke, Orange Park, FL and Coen Papke, Orange Park, FL; her siblings, Sonia Rocafort, Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, Nilsa Perez, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Ivette Nardone, Dorado, Puerto Rico, and Orville Rocafort, Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
