GLADYS  MONEY  WILSON

 

ABBEVILLE. . .Gladys Money Wilson, a resident of Abbeville, died early Saturday morning, February 25, 2012, at her home. She was 85.

 

            Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A. M. Monday, February 27, 2012, in the Pilgrim’s Rest Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Clarence L. Culpepper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary in Abbeville.

 

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Pilgrim’s Rest Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Martha Helms, 110 Gordon Drive, Abbeville, AL. 36310.

 

            Mrs. Wilson was a lifelong resident of the Wills Crossroads community of Henry County, daughter of the late Jessie Albert Money and Mary Alice Davis Money. She was a member of the Pilgrim’s Rest Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilson was a retired employee of WestPoint Stevens in Abbeville after thirty-six years employment. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Tyson Wilson and a brother, Herman Money.

 

            Surviving relatives include three daughters, Janice W. Herndon and husband, Carl; Vangie W. (Dink) Money, all of Abbeville; and Tammy Riley and husband, Jimmy, Echo, AL; a son, Robert W. (Buddy) Wilson and wife, Remona, Enterprise; a sister, Kathleen Wilson, Abbeville; a brother, Earl Money and wife, Ruby, Abbeville; five grandchildren, Nicholas Wilson and wife Jenni, J. W. Money and wife, Leigh, Lindsey Herndon Jeffrey and husband, Peter, Lee Herndon and wife, Megan and Caleb Riley; nine great-grandchildren, Coryn Turner, Tessa Wilson, Evan Riley Money, Miles Jeffrey, Rayne Scott, Aubire Herndon, Austin Herndon, Autumn Herndon and Jacob Herndon;  several nieces and nephews.

 

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Eddie Wilson, Steve Wilson, Troy Wilson, Paul Dyson, Lamar Buxton and Buddy Money.
