GLADYS MORING HORN




DOTHAN…Gladys Moring Horn, a resident of Baptist Village Retirement Center, Dothan, died early Wednesday morning, September 26, 2012, in a Dothan hospital. She was 87.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 28, 2012, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Anthony Tutor officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Pinckard Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Pinckard United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 439, Pinckard, AL, 36371.


            Mrs. Horn was born and reared in Pinckard, daughter of the late Noah A. Moring, Sr. and Florence Walding Moring. She lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1946 until 1999 when she moved to Baptist Village in Dothan. Mrs. Horn was an active member of the Pinckard United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful Christian woman, loving wife, mother, sister and aunt. Mrs. Horn was preceded in death by her husband, Edward P. Horn, four brothers, Grover E. Moring, Noah A. Moring, Jr., Fred T. Moring and James L. (Pie) Moring.


            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Brenda Horn, Dothan; two brothers, Robert Moring and wife Sue, Valparaiso, FL; Frank E. Moring and wife, Peggy, Pinckard; a sister-in-law, Donna Moring, Meridian, MS; four nieces, Jane Moring, Cynthia Nowell (Benny), Susan Moring, Lynn Riley (Terry), five nephews, Craig Moring (Dee), Charles Moring (Jan), Tommy Moring (Carrie), Keith Moring (Karen), Ken Moring (Apryl), several great nieces and great nephews.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be the nephews.


            The family would like to express their appreciation to caregiver, Mary Pace, for the loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Horn during her illness.
