A celebration of Glenda’s life will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, December 8, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Clayton Nowell officiating. Burial will follow in Dothan City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12-1:30 pm. Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made in Glenda’s honor to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org.

Glenda Faye Martin Hammond, a resident of Webb, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was 79 years old.
A celebration of Glenda’s life will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, December 8, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Clayton Nowell officiating. Burial will follow in Dothan City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12-1:30 pm. Glenda was born on October 12, 1943 in Houston County and lived in Dothan the early years of her life. She was a 1961 graduate of Dothan High School and moved to Webb where she has resided since 1971. Glenda was a homemaker and was a very loving and supportive mother who adored her children and loved her grandchildren dearly. She worked as a teachers aid with Houston County High School for several years until her retirement in 2008. Glenda attended Pleasant Plains Baptist Church, a former member of Webb Baptist Church, and a member of the Alabama Education Association.
Survivors include her son, Bryant Hammond; her daughters, Carmen Hammond (Jamie) Ryan and Cornelia Hammond (James) Glenn; her grandchildren, Jackson Hammond, Joanna (Joseph) Mixon, Julia Camryn Ryan, and Alexandria Glenn; her brother, Gary (Janet) Martin; her sister, Linda (Steve) Kiefer; and several nieces and nephews.
