GLENDA RENEE KNIGHT

HEADLAND, AL… Glenda Renee Knight, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Sunday morning, December 3, 2023, at Ozark Health & Rehab. She was 59.

          Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, with Pastor Christepher L. Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

          The family is accepting flowers.

          Glenda Renee Knight was born on November 17, 1964 to the union of David & Ruby Knight, in Headland, Alabama. She came into this world only 24 minutes after her twin, Teresa Knight. As a child, Glenda always had a love of music and was blessed from God with a beautiful voice. This passion for music would carry her throughout her life, and up to her final days.

          After moving to Dayton, Ohio at the age of two, Glenda graduated from Trotwood Madison High School, in 1983. She then went on to travel with her musical bands, The Passion Seekers and Black Satin Soul, throughout the 80’s and 90’s. When she wasn’t singing, Glenda was known for her witty personality and outspoken ways. Friends and family will attest that Glenda was 4”11 in stature, but her personality was big enough to fill up an entire room. Her comedic ways and laughter will live on through her family and friends.

          Aside from music, Glenda’s loves included the birth of her five sons; Keison Roy, Julius Roy, D’won Roy (Tiffany), J’won Roy, and Justice Knight. Her memories will continue to live on through her mother, Ruby Knight; two sisters, Deborah Knight & Teressa Knight, five sons, seventeen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
