COLUMBIA. . .Gordon Rabon Holland, a resident of Columbia, died Monday afternoon, September 12, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. He was 85.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 15, 2022, in the Camp Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Taylor Rutland officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Sharon Elliott, 13205 County Road 53, Columbia, AL 36319.
Rabon Holland was born and reared in the Camp Springs community, near Columbia, son of the late Gordon Holland and Lora Hasty Holland. He was a 1954 graduate of Headland High School. Mr. Holland served his country in the U. S. Air Force from 1955 until 1959. He lived in the Camp Springs community most of his lifetime. Mr. Holland moved to Dothan in 2006 where he lived before returning to Henry County in 2021. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dothan and a former member of the Camp Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Holland was also a member of the Brown’s Crossroads Masonic Lodge No. 529. He was engaged in farming most of his life. After retirement from the family farm, Mr. Holland was employed by the Henry Farm Center in Abbeville. He was preceded in death by his wives, Nancy Earle Penuel Holland and Annie Earle Walden Holland and an infant son.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Connie Holland Thompson and her husband, Jimmy, of Columbia.
