GRACIE  ARMSTRONG  HAYBORN



WEBB. . .Gracie Armstrong Hayborn, a resident of Webb, died Friday afternoon, April 20, 2018, at her home. She was 82.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 23, 2018, in the Cedar Springs Baptist Church, near Ashford, with Reverend William Irwin, Dr. Robert H. Taylor and Reverend Harold Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday in the church sanctuary.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Springs Baptist Church, c/o John W. King, 974 Jack Bruner Road, Ashford, AL 36312 or to Kindred Hospice, 2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303.


            Mrs. Hayborn was born in the Brown’s Crossroads Community in Henry County, daughter of the late James Herbert Armstrong and Marguerite Farmer Armstrong. She was a graduate of Abbeville High School and attended Riley Business College. Mrs. Hayborn moved to the Greenfront Community, near Webb, in 1957. She was a member of the Cedar Springs Baptist Church. In later years, Mrs. Hayborn was involved with her husband in the operation of Southeast Paving Co. Inc. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years,  Jimmie Wilson Hayborn a daughter, Denise Hayborn Brady, and a son-in-law, David Brady.


            Surviving relatives include two daughters, Beth Hayborn Worthy (Judson), Auburn; and Allison Brady Ivey (Jamar), Webb; a son, Jeff Hayborn (Jennifer), Webb; a sister, Jean Armstrong Thomas, Kinsey; a brother, Thomas Armstrong (Linda), Jefferson City, MO; four grandchildren, Katy Beth Worthy, J R Worthy, Hayes Worthy and Amelia Ivey; a sister-in-law, Jane Eubanks.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Josh Thomas, Dean Culbreth, Alex Culbreth, Larry McArdle, Wallace Odom, Charlie Hayes, Joe Armstrong, Brock Baxley, and Mike Colton. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Friendship Sunday School Class.


            The family would like express their appreciation to special caregiver, Judy Kirkland, for the loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Hayborn during her illness
