Obituary: Grady Lee Ward 


Grady Lee Ward of Geneva went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at his residence. He was 68.


Visitation and the celebration of his life will be Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 6 until 8pm at the Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Slocomb. The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory be made to your favorite charity.


Grady was born September 13, 1944 in Geneva, Alabama to the late George Washington and Maggie Mae Massey Ward. For a number of years he owned and operated his own construction painting business.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jack and Ray Ward.


Survivors include 1 daughter: Shelia Duberly (Scott), Dothan, AL, 1 son: Paul Ward (Twila), Geneva, AL, 7 grandchildren: Dustin Crysel, Ciara Ward, Samantha Duberly, Shae Duberly, Anna Anderson, Cheyanne Anderson and Jonathan Anderson, 4 sisters: Jean Hall (Virgil), Smith Station, AL, Jeanette Smith (Dennis), Cataula, GA, Teresa Golden (Donald), Columbus, GA, Jeanell Fuller (Ronnie),Columbus, GA,  3 brothers: George Elias Ward, Geneva, AL, Leroy Ward (Kathy), Columbus, GA, Billy Ward (Sherry), Bauxite, Arkansas, sisters-in-law: Omega Ward, Midland City, AL, Janice Wack, Fadette, AL, special friend: Frances Wimmers, number of special nieces and nephews.
