Grady Wester Mixon departed this life Sunday, July 22, 2018. He died at the home of his brother and sister- in -law Martin and Karen Mixon, in Monroe, Louisiana. He was 65.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 8, 2018, in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with Reverend Kenneth Andrews officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Southeast Alabama Youth Services, 2856 Horace Shepard Drive, Dothan, Alabama 36303 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Grady, the youngest son of the late Martin Van Buren and Jimmie Lee Griffin Mixon, was born December 5, 1952 in Dale County, Alabama. He was a graduate of Carroll High School, class of 1971, in Ozark and a graduate of Troy University. Most of Grady’s working life was with Pemco Aviation in Napier Field. He retired from Pemco in 2003 leaving many good friends and memories. Grady was smart, possessed a keen wit, made and kept a host of friends. Long live his memory. May he find the peace that passeth all understanding.
Grady is survived by his sisters, Ann Morrison (Bill) of Tampa, Fl. and Janice Long (Bill) of Miramar Bch., Fl.; brothers, Ralph Mixon (Betty) of Ozark, Al., Martin Mixon (Karen) of Monroe, La., and Bryant Mixon (Teck) of Ozark, Al.; and beloved nieces and nephews.
