Gregory “Greg” Ferrell Tate, 62, a resident of Ashford, passed away, on Thursday, July 18, 2024, following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Wayside Baptist Church with Brother Erik Varnum & Brother Billy Womack officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m., prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted.

Greg was born January 16, 1962, in Dothan to Alvin Huey & Bernice Louise (Seay) Tate. He was a 1980 graduate of Rehobeth High School, following his graduation, he attended Auburn University. After school, Greg began working as a salesman in the grocery supply industry for the majority of his life. He was a member of Wayside Baptist Church and currently served as a deacon. Greg deeply enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alvin Huey Tate; and a brother, Johnny Paul Tate.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Tate of Ashford; his son, Dustin Tate (Ashleigh) of Cowarts; his mother, Bernice Louise Tate; a brother, Dennis Tate (Sherrie) of Taylor; a sister, Cathy Enfinger (Gary) of Rehobeth; three grandchildren, Kooper, Kase, and Kross Tate of Cowarts; and several nieces and nephews.
