Gregory Michael Creel, 66, of Midland City passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at his residence.

Funeral services will be 3 pm Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Karl Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Greg was born October 3, 1947 in Houston County and lived in Dothan the early part of his life. He was a 1966 graduate of Dothan High School and attended Wallace College and Auburn University before returning to Dothan in 1973. He was employed with GTE from 1977 until his retirement with over 30 years of service. Greg was an avid member of the Tri-State Archaeology Society and was a collector of artifacts and genealogy research.

Survivors include his wife Maylene Creel; sons, Clayton Conrad Creel and Michael (Erica) Creel; a daughter Kelly Miller; grandchildren, Jacob LaVone Miller, Jesse Lee Miller, Jackson Levi Miller, Cadence Elizabeth Creel, and Lily Grace Creel; a sister, Penny Creel Smith; several nieces and nephews.
