Gregory T. Smith, 57, a resident of Wausau, FL passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at a local hospital.

A joint funeral service along with his mother, Lois Smith, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the First Church of God (Dawson Community Church on Dawson Cabin Road) in Jacksonville, NC with Rev. Ernest King officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

Greg was born on October 21, 1959 in Jacksonville, NC and lived there most of his life. He was employed as an HVAC Technician for several years prior to moving to Wausau, FL in 2006. Greg loved to fish and spend time outdoors, and also enjoyed the art of welding. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Smith and his mother, Lois Smith.

Survivors include his son, Donald Smith; his daughter, Jennifer (Matthew) Andrews; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Smith, Madison Smith, and Coston Andrews; his brothers, Randy Smith and Terry (Pam) Smith; his sister, Heidi (Sascha) Benz; several nieces and nephews.
