Harold Frederick “Joe” Pearce, 89, of Dothan passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at a Westside Terrace.
Funeral services will be 3pm Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 2-3pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Pearce was born February 10, 1925 in Laurens, South Carolina and lived the early part of his life in Greenville, SC. He joined the United States Navy in 1943 and served in World War II on PT-331. He was later employed with Daniel Construction for many years until his retirement in 1989. Mr. Pearce has been a resident of Dothan since 1974. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Evelyn Marie Pearce.
Survivors include his three sons, Joey (Bonnie) Pearce, Dothan, Mark (Betty Jo) Pearce, Greenville, South Carolina, and David (Lee) Pearce, Dothan; his grandchildren, Heather Pearce, Holly (Chris) Sloop, Elizabeth (Travis) Vaughn, Alan Pearce and Linde Marie Pearce; three great-grandchildren, Pearce, Luna and Allison; a sister Virginia Putman.
