Harold Larkin Arrington, a resident of Midland City, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, November 17, 2016. He was 86.


A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2 pm on Monday, November 21, 2016 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Van Clack officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1-2 pm.


Mr. Arrington was born on August 7, 1930 in Brevard, North Carolina and lived there the early years of his life. He joined the US Army in 1950 and would later join the US Air Force with over 22 years of active service. Mr. Arrington resided in Jefferson, Texas prior to moving to Midland City in 1990. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 466, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Order of the Eastern Star, Heritage Baptist Church, and South Dothan Gideons.


Mr. Arrington was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, and by his son, Timothy Arrington.


Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Ethel Arrington; his 4 sons, Michael Arrington, Mark Arrington, Alan Staymate, and Gary Staymate; his 6 grandchildren; his 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Steven Fryer.
