HAROLD  LOYD  ROBISON,  SR.



ABBEVILLE. . .Harold Loyd Robison, Sr., a resident of Abbeville, died Saturday morning, February 23, 2019, in a Dothan hospital. He was 85.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 25, 2019, in the Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Teddy Ward and Reverend Ricky Sowell officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. Monday in the church sanctuary.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church “Youth Fund”, 310 Dothan Road, Abbeville, AL 36310.


            Mr. Robison was born and reared in Henry County, son of the late James Manning Robison and Hattie Nola Brady Robison. He lived in Abbeville most of his lifetime and served in the Army Reserve in the Abbeville unit.  Mr. Robison was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and as a member of various boards and church activities. He was formerly employed by the Henry County Road & Bridge Department. In earlier years, he was employed as a carpenter with Armstrong Construction and also with Mack Murphy Farms. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Libby Hughes and Debbie Gordon, four sisters and four brothers.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Ann Murphy Robison; a son, Harold Robison, Jr. (Sherry), Abbeville; a son-in-law, Chuck Gordon, Headland; a sister, Rachel Daughtry, Abbeville; six grandchildren, Tamra Bolt (Virgil), Kayla Noggle (Bobby), Jenna Robison, Zack Robison (Jessica Griggs), Stacy Johnson and Steven Bradley; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Mack Murphy.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be the Deacons of Calvary Baptist Church. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Jeremy Whiddon Sunday School Class and also Mack Murphy and Larry Hatfield.
