Harry O. Mugler


 


Harry O. Mugler, a resident of Ashford, died Tuesday night, June 26, 2012 at his residence. He was 65.


 


Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at Covenant United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce Sheffield and Rev. Matt Albritton officiating.   Burial with military honors will follow in Rocky Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 on Thursday.


 


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, The Gideons Society or Ashford United Methodist Church, “Building Fund”.


 


Mr. Mugler was born September 4, 1946 in Hampton, Virginia and lived the early years of his life there. He served in the U. S. Navy for six years and later graduated from Troy University. Mr. Mugler has been a resident of Ashford for over 40 years. He was employed with Southtrust and Wachovia banks for over 30 years before retiring as Vice-President of auditing. He enjoyed traveling and his grandchildren. He was a member of Ashford United Methodist Church.


 


Survivors include his wife, Ellen Mugler of Ashford; two children, Christie Henderson (T.J.) of Cowarts and Byron Mugler (Tonya) of Dothan; five grandchildren, Chelsea Wright, Tyler Farmer, Zachary Mugler, Bailey Farmer and Matthew Mugler; four brothers, Chris Mugler, Hamlet Mugler, Guy Mugler and Tommy Mugler, all of Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive.
