Harry Randolph "Roscoe" Stoops, IV, 56, of Ozark passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Dale Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 7 pm Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Rowell officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, due to Roscoe's love of baseball and his personal commitment to supporting local teams, please make donations in Roscoe's name to: The CHS Baseball Diamond Club, C/O Brad Hull, 496 Country Club Dr., Ozark, AL 36360, from Roscoe's family, we all thank you for your love, support and prayers.
Mr. Stoops was born November 28, 1955 in Philadelphia, PA to Harry and Edith Stoops. He moved to Hialeah, FL at an early age and graduated from Hialeah High School in 1973. He was currently employed with AT&T Telephone Company and has been for over 30 years. Mr. Stoops has lived in Ozark for the past 2 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Randy Stoops.
Survivors include his wife Joy Saunders of Ozark; a daughter Robyn (Jason) Hill of Gainesville, FL; brothers and sisters, Ronnie Stoops of Sunrise, FL, Robbie (Peggy) Stoops of Loxahatchee, FL, Connie Stoops of Monroe, GA, and Beth Stoops of Hialeah, FL; step-sons, Tyler Saunders of Buckley Air Force Base, CO, and Dalton Saunders of Merritt Island, FL; father and mother-in-law Robert and Delores Rowell of Merritt Island, FL; brother-in-law Major Mark (Amy) Rowell of Cocoa Beach, FL; several nieces and nephews also survive.
