Harvey D. Kirby, 86, of Dothan passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at Extendicare Health and Rehab.

Services will be 11 am Monday, June 3, 2013 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Plummer officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 3257 East Cottonwood Road, Dothan, AL, 36301.

Mr. Kirby was born March 13, 1927 in Nashville, TN to the late Henry Z. Kirby and Oma Lynn Burlison Kirby. He graduated from East Nashville High School and was a Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He began his farm equipment career in Nashville working for International Harvester prior to working for Commercial Credit. He was employed with Case Equipment Company as a regional manager at the time of his retirement. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson Sam Hagerman; brothers, Benton M. Kirby, Lewis D. Kirby, Dorsey K. Kirby, Garland L. Kirby, and Gerald A. Kirby; sisters, Mary Louise Kirby Collier and Zelda Mae Kirby Mesa.

Survivors include his wife Earline C. Jordan Kirby; children, Barry D. (Susan) Kirby and Patti Kirby (Tom) Knight; grandsons, Chris and Matthew Kirby; 3 great-grandchildren; step-sons, Keith (Jena) Jordan and Stevie (Lori) Jordan; step-daughters, Karen Jordan (Bob) Booth and Hope Jordan (Rocky) Moon; sisters, Emogene Kirby Patterson, Charlene Kirby (Joe) Romans; many nieces and nephews also survive.
