Hattie Lee Reeder Motley of Geneva, AL passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017, after an extended illness. She had been a resident of Greenwood Assisted Living in Geneva for about four years. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Scott Crooms officiating. Burial will follow at the Geneva City Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Mrs. Motley was born on May 1, 1927, in Vernon, FL to the late Miles Reeder and Winnie Mae Howell Reeder. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Leon Motley; and her sister, Odell Byrd. Leon and Hattie lived in Geneva, AL, Prattville, AL, and in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a credit manager for Sears Roebuck for many years. Following retirement, Hattie worked at Autauga Medical Center where she filed insurance claims.
She is survived by her son, Louis Motley, and wife, Belinda, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Trish Willard, and husband, Philip of Kathleen, GA and Shanon Motley, and wife, Tiffany of Crestview, FL; six great-grandchildren, Courtney Daniels, and husband, Robert of Perry, GA, Caitlyn Thomas of Athens, GA, Justin Willard, USN, Miranda Motley of Clarksville, GA, Bailey Motley and Kendall Motley, both of Crestview, FL; and two great-great grandsons, Gabriel and Clark Daniels, both of Perry, GA.
