Hazel Marie Mason, resident of Daleville, Alabama, formally of Cowarts, Alabama, went to be with the Lord June 26, 2021, in her home surrounded by family while in the care of Kindrid Hospice. She was 81 years old.

She was born September 17, 1939, in Montrose, Colorado. She was of the Christian faith and was a devoted animal lover. A stray animal never needed a home again once they came to Hazel’s door. 

She worked as a plumbing department manager at West Building Supply for many years until her retirement. Hazel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Joe Mason, her parents, Gene and Ardith Collingsworth, one sister, Florene Jones, and one brother, Johnny Collingsworth.

She is survived by three sisters, Elaine Collingsworth, Betty Woods (Kyle), and Verda Ra’musse, her children Ardith Marie Moring (Jeff), Alfred Leroy Davis, William Andrus Williams (Tammie), Michael Boyce Williams (Rhea), many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.

Hazel requested that her body be cremated, and no funeral services be held. A date for a memorial service will be announced at a future date. The family asks in lieu of flowers for donations to be made to the Wiregrass Area Foodbank, The Wiregrass Humane Society, and Love in Action Ministry in honor of Hazel Marie Mason.
