HAZEL  WISTERIA  WELCH  KEY



HEADLAND. . .Hazel Wisteria Welch Key, a resident of Headland, died Monday night, January 28, 2019, at her home. She was 97.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 31, 2019, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Scott Wyatt and a great-grandson, Chad Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the mortuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.


            Mrs. Key was born in Barbour County, daughter of the late Stoney Welch and Clara Henderson Welch. She lived near Headland most of her adult lifetime where she was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. Mrs. Key was retired from WestPoint Stevens in Abbeville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Roy Key, a son, Lester Key, Jr., a sister, Sybil Spivey and four brothers, Kenneth Welch, Kendrick Welch, Tom Welch and Edwin Welch.


            Surviving relatives include her daughter-in-law, Melissa Chancey Key, Headland; a sister, Joy Smith, Headland; and two sisters-in-law, Shirley Welch and Mavis Welch; two grandchildren, Steve Key (Ouida), and David Key (Anglia Jones); three great-grandchildren, Chad Baker, David Allen (Templar), and Megan Gray (Andrew); three great-great-grandchildren, Gracie Key, David Andrew Key and Brookelyn Key.
