 Helen Christine Cook Holland, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 20, 2019 surrounded by her loving family in her home. She was born on September 28, 1930 in Geneva County to the late Roy Cook, Sr. and Annie Pearl Cook (Tew).


Funeral Service 2 PM, Sunday June 23, 2019 at Selma Baptist Church, burial to follow in church cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Hale officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 6 PM until 8 PM at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.


Christine was a loving wife and mother who had a heart for serving. She graduated from Rehobeth High School in 1949. She went on to devote 38 years to Howell Plywood before retiring in 2005. Christine was a lifelong member of Selma Baptist church and very involved with the WMU. She will be remembered as a faithful servant of the Lord.


Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Jackson “Leroy” Holland, son-in-law: Frank Wilson and brother Roy Cook.


Survivors include her daughters: Malissa Tew, and Sara Wilson, sisters: Dorothy Jean Branch and Joyce Mims, brothers: Joe Cook (Mary), Vinson Cook (Juanita), and John Cook (Beverly), grandchildren: Wendell Tew (Beth), Anthony Wilson (Lisa), Keisha Wilson and Melanie Clegg, great-grandchildren: Zack Tew, Carrie Tew, Megan Waybright, David Ellis Wilson, Danielle Loukinas (Nick), Preston Scott, Dustyn Scott, and Jason Givens, great-great-grandchildren: Adalyn Scott, Kayden Givens, Kaiston Scott and Nico Loukinas.
