Helen Maxine Flores
Helen Maxine Flores – best known by friends and family as Maxine passed away on August 12, 2021 at the age of 80. She was born on November 16, 1940 to Herb and Bonnie Wayland. Maxine was the middle child of three girls. They lived in San Francisco for a number of years and then moved to Santa Rosa where her parents owned and ran Wayland’s Food Store. She attended school there and graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1958. She then went on to get her associate degree in business and graduated in 1964. From Santa Rosa junior Collage She married Leroy Geer and raised a son Dennis and a daughter Irene in Glen Ellen and did daycare in her home for a number of years. Maxine participated in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and dabbled in a variety of crafts but ceramics was her favorite. She went back to school and be become a registered dental assistant. She worked for Dr. B. Von Morgan DDS for a number of years both as an RDA and then his Office Manager. She later divorced and married Robert (Bob) Flores who she lived, loved and laughed with for 33 years. She found her way back to the dentistry as the Office Manger for Dr. Larry Ford DDS in Sebastopol. They decided to move to Dothan, Alabama where her son Dennis and daughter-in-law Lillie lived. They resided there for the last 15 years. She is preceded in death by her oldest sister Lee Medero and her husband Robert “Bob” Flores who has passed away several months prior on April 22, 2021. She is survived by her sister Linda Jenkins (Art), children Dennis (Lillie), Irene (Craig) and Bruce (Jonna) as well as her grandchildren Stephanie, Katie, Sara, Eric Taylor and Amber and several great grandchildren.
