COWARTS. . .Henry Earl Culver, a resident of Cowarts, Alabama, died Tuesday night, May 23, 2023, in the Graceville Health Center. He was 77.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 26, 2023, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Jimmy McArdle officiating. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery in Avon. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Headland.
Mr. Culver was born in Jacksonville, Florida and was reared in Arcadia, Florida, son of the late Edwin Culver and Lassu Phillips Culver. He moved to Cowarts in 1973.
Mr. Culver was retired as the owner and operator of Henry’s Kustom Kreations in Cowarts. He formerly taught Paint & Body at Wallace College in the Vocational department. Mr. Culver was a licensed pilot and call his airplane “Tweety Bird”. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Culver was preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron Hudspeth, two sisters, Louise and Shirley and two brothers, Sammy Culver and Curtis Culver.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Judy Odom Culver, Cowarts; a daughter, Kimberly Kay Culver; two sons, Hank Culver (Renae), Wicksburg; and Michael Culver (Donna), Wicksburg; two sisters, Charlotte Sanders and Dorothy Hines (Bill), all of Arcadia, FL; grandchildren, Josh Culver (Taylor), Hanah Carmichael (Daniel), Holly Culver, Andrew Hudspeth, Dakota Lyerly, Riley Culver and Lexie Lyerly; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Hawkins (Tim); a brother-in-law, Espy Odom (Wanda).
Serving as active pallbearers will be Espy Odom, Tim Hawkins, Josh Culver, Daniel Carmichael, Heath Odom and Hunter Hawkins.
