Henry Frank Diggs was born and raised in Geneva, Al. on September 17, 1945, to the late James E. Diggs and Adell G. Diggs. He was the 7th child of 11 born to his parents. Henry peacefully departed his earthly life on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Henry was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ at an early age. He attended school in Geneva, AL and would later serve in the United States Army. After honorably serving in the military, he would then take on the profession of Nursing until his retirement. Henry had a great love for FAMILY and would passionately share stories of his childhood and attending many family reunions over the years.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents James and Adell Diggs, four sisters: Ammerene Allen, Mary Helen Walker, Louise Smith, and Mavis Diggs Hill; and two brothers: James Jr. Diggs. and Woodrow Diggs.

Henry leaves to cherish loving memories four children: Henry Diggs Duncan (Felita), Tonia Diggs Fields both of Alabama, Wayne Diggs (Andria), Kristina Diggs Hodgson both of Florida, and a stepdaughter Angela Duncan of Bessemer; three sisters: Earline Griffin, Mary Lou McKithen, and Annie Williams; one brother: Willie Lee Diggs; seventeen grandchildren: VaShawn, Meshek, Brian Jr., Macy, Lacy, Cheree, John Henry, Amber, Kiana, Trinadee, Amir, Jreamarie,Teona, Shuntel, Emanuel, Ezekial, and Valencia; seventeen great grandchildren: Christopher, Karter, A’Marion, Za’Kia, Jordan, Jada, Ja’Mia , Aaliyah, Kamille, Mason, A’Miyah, Serenity, Josiah, August, Jeremiah, Jahzeel, and Tazana....; one step grandchild: Quentin; one adopted grandchild: Kwalysia; one special niece: Phyliss Sikes; one special cousin: Zephanie Williamson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
