HENRY WILLIS SCOTT
MIAMI, FLORIDA. . .Henry Willis Scott, age 63, a resident of Miami, Florida, went to be with His personal Lord and Savior on Monday, February 13, 2012, in a Miami hospital. He had bravely battled a form of skin cancer for more than three decades.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, February 18, 2012, in the Haleburg Cemetery with Reverend Myron Wise officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be given to the Henry Scott Memorial Fund c/o Southwest Community Church, 8951 SW 44 Street, Miami, FL 33165 or Princeton Church of the Nazarene, 24800 SW 134 Avenue, Princeton, Florida 33032.
Henry Willis Scott was born on September 12, 1948 at the Opalocka Army Base Hospital in Opalocka, Florida. He has been a faithful son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to those whom he has loved. He lived Miami, Florida all of his life. Henry spent his entire career at Miami-Dade Community College, Kendall Campus, providing them thirty-five years of dedicated service. He was proud of his work and was honored with the Award of Excellence in 2002. Henry has spent his years in retirement as his mother’s closest friend, traveling, attending the sports games of his great-nieces and great-nephews which brought him great joy, attending the men’s group he was a part of and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Angus M. Scott, Sr. and a brother, Thomas R. Scott.
Surviving relatives include his beloved mother, Mavis Ryals Scott, Miami, FL; two sisters, L. Catherine Moss, Gainesville, FL; and Mary Granda, Miami, FL; two brothers, Angus M. Scott II, Haleburg, AL; and Robert C. Scott, Miami, FL; his sisters-in-law, Jacquie Scott (Thomas) and JoAnne Scott (Robert); his nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own children; his grand-nieces and grand-nephews; cousins, other family and many friends.
