Hermon “Tony” Otis Andrews, 81, a resident of Dothan, entered his eternal home Thursday, January 21, 2021, after a brief illness.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Mt. of Olives Cemetery with Reverends Benny Lindsey, Murray Kelley, and Mark Benson officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Andrews was born on August 14, 1939, in Dothan, Alabama to the late L. W. and Pearlie Mae Phillips Andrews and grew up in Houston County. He was a 1957 graduate of Cottonwood High School. Upon graduation, he attended Auburn University. He worked with his father in contract fence installation. He later worked in the HVAC industry, owning his own business (Airco Heating & Cooling) and retiring as a manager with Coastline Distributing Company. Mr. Andrews was a member of Dothan First Assembly of God Church and faithfully served in the nursing home ministry and with the senior adults. He was an active member of Cottonwood Senior Center. Mr. Andrews had a love for agriculture and was known for the encouragement he offered to many. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Clarence Andrews and Wade Andrews, and two sisters, Louise James and Avis Forehand.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Martha Bridges Andrews of Dothan; two daughters, Pam Andrews Deese (Dewayne) and Rhonda Andrews Hayes (Phillip), all of Cottonwood; three grandchildren, Amy Deese McNeill (Todd) of Dothan, Courtney Deese Vickers (Josh) of Dothan and Haley Anderson Reinelt (Chris) of Cottonwood; seven great-grandchildren, Hedaya Awad, Ethan McNeill, Ella Brooke McNeill, Lily Jayne Vickers, Evan Reinelt, Nolan Reinelt, and Addie Mae Vickers; two sisters, Johnnie Jenkins and Virginia Henry; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and close friends.
