Hildagray “Monk” Mervelle Hutchison

Hildagray “Monk” Mervelle Hutchison, a resident of Dothan, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at a local hospital. She was 85 years old.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating.

Mrs. Hutchison was born October 30, 1936 to Clarence and Carrie Bell Stabler Senn in Swansea, South Carolina where she spent her early years. She moved to Dothan in 1967 and owned and operated a daycare in the early 70’s. She was then employed with Dr. Joshi in the Renal Hypertension clinic for several years. Hildagray enjoyed gardening, especially growing vegetables and beautiful flowers. She was always thinking about another, always putting the other person first. Every day she was either crocheting or sewing something for someone. She enjoyed making handmade gifts for others. Mrs. Hutchison was also a member of Bethelhem Baptist Church in Headland, AL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Paul Hutchison, Jr.

Survivors include her son, Tony Hutchison; daughters, Melinda Loftin and Audrey Hutchison; Two grandchildren, Kelsey Loftin and Josh Hutchison; and several nieces and nephews.
