Hilton Crawford Brannon, a resident of Dothan, AL; went to be with his Lord on November 21, 2011, at his home. He was 78 years old.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ricky Plummer and Reverend Wallace Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, November 22, 2011.

 

Mr. Brannon was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He taught Sunday School for many years and had been a deacon for 54 years. His greatest desire was to share his love of his Savior to all he came in contact with. His question to so many people was, “Do you know what is in heaven that is man made?” Then he would say, “the scars on Jesus.”

 

The family is so grateful for the love and care of the ladies from Gentevia Hospice.

 

He is preceded in death by Perry and Ruby Brannon, Sr., two brothers, John T. Brannon, Perry Brannon, Jr., and one sister-in-law, Gwin Brannon.

 

Mr. Brannon is survived by his wife of 58 years, Brunetta Johnson Brannon, one daughter, Shirley Waters, and husband, Johnny, one son, Fred David Brannon and wife, Melanie, four grandchildren, Joshua Brannon and wife, Alyson, Candace Trawick and husband, Jared, Blake Waters and wife, Kerrie, and Eric Waters, four great-grandchildren, Kaden Waters, Jonah Trawick, Emily and Erin Espinoza.

 

The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund.
