Hiram "Hidy" B. Green, 82 of Midland City passed away Thursday April 4, 2013 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Bay Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to Bay Springs Baptist Church, 1721 S. Bay Springs Road, Dothan, AL, 36305.

Mr. Green was born October 6, 1930 in Dothan, AL. Upon graduating from Dothan High School in 1949 he became employed with A & P Tea Co as a meat cutter. He worked there for 6 years and in 1956 became the meat department manager at Stephenson-Smith IGA where he worked for 24 years. In 1980 he started his employment at Michelin Tire Co where he stayed until his retirement in 1995. Following his retirement he spent time gardening, fishing, and traveling with his wife, as long as his health allowed. He was a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church.

Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Thollie Green; a daughter Connie Green; and brothers and sisters, Robert H. Green, Sylvia Green, Doris Green Martin, Audrey Green Cherry, Wallace A. Green, Lester C. Green, Jr., and Sherry Harritos.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Chapman Green; daughters, Nancy Green Martin and Gayle Green Besecker; sons, Wesley B. (Laurie) Green and Larry N. (Kacy) Green; grandchildren, Mandy (Richard) Hall, Dawn (Mike) Brock, Chanda (Bill) Le, Heather (Tony) Terry, Brandon (Brittany) Hurst, Victor (Meme) Newman, Kimberly (Cleveland) Lilly, Tamara Morris, Curtis Hillman, III, Saylar Green, and Evelyn Grace Green; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother Joe (Barbara) Green; sisters, Thessalie Montgomery and Gloria Green.
