Hosie Franklin Culver, Sr., a resident of Dothan, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at a local hospital. He was 68 years old.
A private celebration of his life will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Windell McGriff officiating. Interment will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
Hosie was born on November 17, 1953 in Dothan to the late Johnny and Effie Roberts Culver. He was a 1973 graduate of Houston County High School. Hosie owned his own floor covering business for over 40 years. He loved God and his family and enjoyed cooking. Hosie was a faithful member of Patterson Street Freewill Baptist Church where he was a devoted deacon for over 30 years.
Hosie was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Effie Roberts Culver, his siblings, Sybile Jackson, Bettye Culver, Linda Roberts, and Nadine Butler.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Kelli “Kallie” Culver; his children, Cherry (Bob) Rivers, Marethra (Rodney) Harvey, Hosie (April) Culver, Jr., Sharetha Culver (fiancé, Isaac Miller), Fredrick Culver, Ja’den Pittman, Major Pittman and Kynsleigh Pittman; his grandchildren, Brandon Wallace, Zaria Russ, Zamyria Harvey, Rodney Harvey, Jr., Hosaria Culver, Makayla Dickens, Tiera Glasco, Kenli Graham, and Yara Culver; his siblings, Mary Nacoste, Hellion Adams, Johnny Culver, Lue Jean Culver Ward, Glenda Brooks, Diane Toole, James Culver, and Gloria Culver; and a host of nieces and nephews.
