Mr. Houston O’Quinn Jenkins of Geneva passed away at Southeast Alabama Medical Center on Monday, October 21, 2013.  He was 74.  A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2013 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva.


Mr. Jenkins was born in Holmes County, Fla. on May 3, 1939 to the late Joe and Lucille O’Quinn Jenkins.  He was a graduate of Ponce de Leon High School.  He later served in the US Air Force.  Prior to his retirement he was employed as a helicopter mechanic at Ft. Rucker for 36 years. He loved classical music, gardening and was a keen observer of the weather.


He is survived by his wife, Linda Jenkins of Geneva; son, Wayne Jenkins (Christine) of Hope, RI; daughter, Nancy Persyn (Tim) of San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren, Rachel and Sydney Jenkins, both of Hope, RI, Jordan and David Carlisle, both of San Antonio, TX; step-daughter, Tamera Peterson of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; step-son, Bryan Carroll, and fiancé, Tiffany of DeFuniak Springs, FL; three step grandchildren, Taylor Davis of Ft. Walton Beach, FL,  Bryanna and Haden Carroll both of DeFuniak Springs, FL; two brothers, Joe Jenkins (Vivian) of Cottondale, FL and Murray Jenkins (Shirley) of Westville, FL; and sister, Hazel Foxworth (Jerry) of Chipley, FL.
