Hubert Yell, Jr. passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023. He was 87 years old.

He was born November 26, 1935 in Hazel Green, Alabama, where he grew up, went to school then college. Later, going into the Army landed him in Ft. Rucker, AL, where he met his love, Jacqueline. After the Army, they got married and lived in Hazel Green, Alabama. He got a job with Chrysler Corporation, farmed, and ran his own dozier for several years. In 1975 things began to change and they moved to Geneva, AL. He went to work at Clinton Mills and joined the Geneva National Guard Unit, until he retired from them. He enjoyed the outdoors and his utilizing his woodworking skills. He was also a Founding Member, Decon, Sunday School Superintendent of Living Water Church in Samson, AL. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed by all.

Hubert was preceded in death by his parents: Hubert Yell, Sr. and Virgie Hopkins Yell, Brother, Billy Ray Yell, Sisters: Mildred Mullins, Hazel Stephens, & Frances Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Woody Lee Dupree, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. until service time, at the funeral home

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jacqueline Meredith Yell, His Son Hubert (Deanne) Yell, III, of Black, AL, Daughters Huberta Ann (Matt) D'Olive, of Mary Ester, FL, Elizabeth Yell (Monty) Kowitz, of Chipley, FL. Many Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren, Nieces & Nephews. And was loved and will be missed by all.

Pallbearers: Tyler Yell, Jeremy Davis, B.J. Meredith, Monty Kowitz, Matt D'Olive, Paul Holland.
