Ida Pearl Shelley Wilson, a resident of Dothan, died Friday morning, December 25, 2015, at her home. She was 79.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 27, 2015, in the New Zion Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, in the Tumbleton Community, with Reverend Joey Pettis officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the sanctuary of the New Zion Free Will Baptist Church.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions made to AlaCare Hospice, 3779 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36305 or to the New Zion Free Will Baptist Church, c/o David Teat, 10033 County Road 47, Shorterville, AL 36373.
Mrs. Wilson was born and reared in the Tumbleton Community of Henry County, daughter of the late Cleveland Pomp Shelley and Queenie Bradshaw Shelley. She lived in Dothan most of her adult lifetime where she was employed as mortgage banker and was a member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Wilson, two infants, Michael Allen Wilson and Daphne Leigh Wilson, a daughter, Julie Ann Wilson Adams, a son-in-law, Brian Adams, a son, Donald Gregory Wilson, and four brothers, Jack Shelley, Cleveland Shelley, Major Shelley and Earl Shelley.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Donna Wilson, Dothan; a daughter-in-law, Rebecca Wilson Paul, Pensacola, FL; two sisters, Dot Hardy and Nina Killingsworth and two sisters-in-law, Ellie Mae Shelley and Janelle Shelley, all of the Tumbleton Community; six grandchildren, Alexandra Wilson-Smith (Shaun), Chris Wilson, Nick Still, Zack McDonald, Josh McDonald, and Lindsay Adams; one great-granddaughter, Emma Wilson-Smith
