Mrs. Ida Sue Wilson, age 88, a resident of Dothan (formerly of Nashville, Tn.), died Wednesday February 24, 2016 at Flowers Hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday February 28, 2016 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Reverend Paul Edenfield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.
The family will be receiving friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday. Flowers will be accepted.
Mrs. Wilson was born on February 3, 1928 in Guntersville the daughter of Boyd H. Lang and Callie Lillie Mason Lang. She was a 1945 graduate of Arab High School and was a homemaker for most of her life. Mrs. Wilson lived in Nashville, Tennessee for several years and worked with the State of Tennessee for 7 years as a Food Stamp Certifier and volunteered at the Nashville Memorial Hospital for 16 years. Mrs. Wilson moved to Dothan in 2000 and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church where she was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands, D.C. Shelton and Harold Wilson; twin brother, Hugh B. Lang; 2 sisters, Evelyn King and Goldie Thornton.
Survivors include: daughter, Sandra Ann Stokes (David), Dothan; 2 grandchildren, David Stokes, Jr. (Lorri), Dothan; Debbie McIlvaine (Bob), Hinsdale, Illinois; 11 great-grandchildren, Andie Stokes, Keely Stokes, Abigail Stokes, Brody Stokes, Skylar Stokes, Kaitlyn, Mack & Graham McIlvaine; Sydney Carrano, Bayley Blackmon and Brooke Thames; 1 great-great granddaughter, Ana Grace Thames.
Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
