Imogene Martin Walters of Dothan passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Extendicare. She was 86.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Rick Glenn and Jack Wingate officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 to 2 P.M. Friday, May 30, 2014. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice.
Ms. Walters was a member of Memphis Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Martin and Iona Wilburn Martin, her husband, Raymond Walters, son, Irby Rex Danford, grandson, D.J. Dempsey, and her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Gloria Barlow and her husband Mel of Cowarts; son, Stanley Walters of Dothan; grandchildren Raymond Dempsey (Melissa) Corey Danford (Dee), Jason Danford, Doug Walters, Jessica Gaskill, step-granddaughter, Zoe Day, great-grandchildren Raymond Dempsey, Jr, Daniel Dempsey, Elizabeth Dempsey, Javin Danford, special niece Marta Sue Dixon (Johnny), special nephew, Kenneth Barfield (Linda), and several other nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Keisha, Sybil, Tracey, Joyce and all the nursing staff on the 6th Hall.
