GRIMES. . . Irene Baxley Bolden, a resident of Grimes, died Tuesday night, October 24, 2017, at her home. She was 91.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 27, 2017, in the Corinth Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Miller and Reverend S.E. Newberry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Friday in the church sanctuary.          


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Corinth Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Phillip Horne, 1473 County Road 25, Midland City, AL 36350.


            Mrs. Bolden was born and reared in the Christian Hill Community of Dale County, daughter of the late William Oscar Baxley and Zina Windham Baxley. She lived in Grimes for the past thirty-five years. Mrs. Bolden was a member of the Corinth Free Will Baptist Church and participated in the Multi-Community Senior Center of Midland City. She was a retired employee of the Wex-Tex Manufacturing Company in Headland. Mrs. Bolden was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Bolden Horne, a son, James David Bolden, a grandson, Phillip Todd Horne, and all her sisters and brothers.


            Surviving relatives include a son-in-law, Phillip Horne, a granddaughter-in-law Alisa Horne, a grandson, Scott Horne (Janice), all of Grimes; a granddaughter, Ashley Hill (Dustin); great-grandchildren, Colby Horne, Cameron Horne, Grant Horne, Reagan Horne, Ava Hill and Daxx Hill.
