Irene McNab Long, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday afternoon, November 25, 2015, in a Dothan hospital. She was 90.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 27, 2015 in the Pinckard Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Van Clack officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Baptist Church Bus Fund, 1951 Westgate Pkwy, Dothan, Alabama 36303.
Mrs. Long was born and reared in Pinckard, Alabama, daughter of the late Oree McNab and Nuna Dean McNab. She lived in Pensacola, Florida twenty five years before moving to Dothan in 1981. Mrs. Long was retired from Monsanto Chemical Company in Pensacola. She was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church, in Dothan. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her husband of sixty five years, Marvin Long, sisters, Nell M. Davenport, Iris McKnight, Lillian McKnight and Kathleen Standifer, brothers, Dean McNab, Reverend Max McNab, Joe McNab and Gene McNab.
Surviving relatives include a brother, Fred McNab, Pinckard; two sisters-in-law, Eddis McNab and Lucille Whitaker, both of Dothan; several nieces and nephews, including two nieces, Phillis Holland (Paul) and Deborah Camp (Louis), Dothan; a nephew, Jimmy McKnight (Nelda), all of Pinckard; a brother-in-law, Hubert Long, Dothan; a special K-9 friend, Perkins.
The family would like to thank Raina McKnight and Vicky Thrash, her loving caregivers, for their loving care, kindness, and support shown to Mrs. Long.
