Jack Richard “Rick” Brewer, Jr. of Samson, AL passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020 in a Dothan Hospital. He was 67 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Piney Grove Assembly of God Church with Rev. Eddie Crutchfield, Rev. Mike Medley, and Rev. Billy Fortune officiating. His daughter, Niki Linton will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Rick was born in Atlanta, GA on November 29, 1952 to the late Jack Richard and Lillie Mae Mashburn Brewer. Rick had a passion for helping people. His nursing career along with his service in the United States Army reflected that passion of helping and serving people. He was the adult Sunday School teacher and education director at Piney Grove Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed deer hunting and watching anything related to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Rick loved his family immensely, but his greatest love was God.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his 2nd mother, Frances Brewer.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 16 years, Diane Linton Brewer of Samson, AL; one daughter, Niki Linton, and her son, Colton James Patch, both of Samson, AL; three sons, Ricky Brewer (Nikki) and their children, Brittany, Mack, and Reagan Brewer all of Dothan, AL, Shane Brewer (Susan) and their children, Kalyn and Ransom Brewer all of Slocomb, AL, and Tim Brewer (Lori) and their children, Shyanne and Jake Brewer all of LaGrange, GA; five brothers, Joseph Brewer of Fayetteville, GA, Charles Brewer of Woodstock, GA, Harry Brewer of Conyers, GA, Jonathan Brewer of Lithonia, GA, and John Fincher of Monroe, GA; one sister, Brenda Dodson of Cleveland, GA; father and mother-in-law, James and Louise Linton of Samson, AL; one sister-in-law, Sharon Edwards (Blake) of Samson, AL; and many nieces and nephews.
