 Jack Wright


Jack Wright, a resident of Dothan, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013, at his home. He was 84.


Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Plummer officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. Wednesday prior to services. Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church “Building Fund”, 3257 E. Cottonwood Rd., Dothan, AL 36301.



Mr. Wright was born in Houston County, August 7, 1928  and moved to Early County, GA as a young teen. He entered the  U. S. Army and was stationed in Greenland during the Korean War. He and his wife lived in Donalsonville, GA for many years before moving to Dothan in 1998. Mr. Wright enjoyed gardening and particularly his fruit trees. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.



Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his wife Lillian W. Wright in October of last year.



Survivors include one daughter, Kaye Wells (Andy) of Dothan; granddaughter, Kacie Baggett (Jason) of Alexandria, VA; grandson, Ben Wells of Dothan; four great grandchildren, Lucas Baggett, Addison Baggett, Bryson Wells, and Baylee Wells; four sisters, Ann (Earl) Pace, Leesburg, GA, Betty (Lamar) Arnold, Savannah, GA, Gloria (Gary) Law, and Judy (Bill) Lott, all of Macon, GA; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
