Jackie Wesley Ready

Jackie Wesley Ready, age 76, residing in Alexandria, LA for the past thirty years left his earthly home on June 23, 2020.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Memory Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorial contributions to be made to the music program for any of the following: Emmanuel Baptist Church, Alexandria, LA or First Baptist Church Fairhope in Fairhope, Alabama.

Jack was born in Dothan, Houston County, Alabama. He graduated from Ashford High School in 1961 and later attended Mobile College in 1977 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Jack attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated in 1979 with a Master of Religious Education degree. He was certified as a church Administrator through Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Jack served as Minister of Music and Youth at Rehobeth Baptist Church, Grandview Baptist Church, First Baptist Fairhope and Administrator at First Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama. He was the Director of the Business Division and Associate Executive Director of Louisiana Baptist Convention when he retired in 2005.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Irene Ready; brothers, Billy and Terry Ready; sister, Kate Palmer; and son, Kevin Jay Ready.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Branton Ready; three children, Marty (Anya) Ready, Chris (Megan) Ready and Keli Ready (Dustin) Berry; grandchildren, Hannah Ready, Jared Ready, Emmerson Ready, Greyson Ready, Benjamin Berry and Brooke Berry; and several very special nieces and nephews.
