HEADLAND. . .Jackson Wood “Jack” Key, a resident of Headland, died Monday afternoon, February 7, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. He was 73.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 10, 2022, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Phillip Durr and Reverend Chuck Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Headland. Social distancing and mask guidelines will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SouthernCare Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Highway, Suite 2, Dothan, AL 36303.
Jack Key was a native of Blue Springs and moved to Headland as a child, son of the late Marion Holt Key and Rilla Mae Goff Key. He formerly lived in Midland City but lived in the Headland area most of his lifetime. Jack was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church in Dothan. He was retired, due to disability, from Wiregrass Commons Mall, as Maintenance Supervisor. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Kay Lisenby Key and a brother, Otis Key.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Nicole Key McCook (Joe), Newville and Jan Wells Tracy (John), West Palm Beach, FL; a son, Doug Wells, West Palm Beach FL; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Key Wilkerson (Levoid), Midland City; seven grandchildren, Mason Tracey, Lora McCook, Bryan McCook, Garrett Wells (Kristie), Chris Wells (Tiffany), Haylie Wells and Michael Wells (Aubrey), several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; a special former daughter-in-law, Vicki Matthews.
